Established in 1980 with a few horses owned by Eli-Anita and Ken Norman, and a few boarding clients. Eli's background in equines began more than 25 years ago working with TB race horses, and hunters. For over ten years she helped lead a 4-H group, coaching many young riders. She's competed successfully in English, Western, Halter, Breed, Trail, Equitation, Pleasure, and Hunter classes on the "Vermont Circuit" for a number of years.
Currently, Eli with the help of her husband Ken and others, works with training, retraining, or exercising pleasure and competition horses for clients and herself. Her main focus these days is Dressage, and how those training techniques can enhance the performance of other types of riding (i.e.,Western, Hunter, "Cross-country", etc.) as well as the "Dressage Horse". She teaches Intro (walk/trot) through 2nd Level Dressage, as well as Western Pleasure, Equitation, Trail, and introductory through Training level Cross-Country and Stadium. Their other love is caring for the older retired equine, those who have served their humans well and now need some individualized attention themselves; allowing them to live out their days as comfortably as can be managed.
Today they manage a busy schedule competing in Dressage, hosting their annual Mid-Western Vt. Summer Horse Trial Series, a Working Student Program, individual and small group mounted training sessions, clinics at the farm, an Equine Program for area home schoolers , and occasionally breeding their own stock, and to top it off - Ken is a full time Farrier, Vice-President of the Vermont Farrier's Association and a member of the West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department!
